Questins about getting my computer back to the company

The automated system kept messing up and the hung up on me. I want to turn my chrome book I just bought the end of October back and get my money for it. It is not damaged in anyway it is just not what I wanted:

Extremely poor customer service and repairs

I sent my sister's laptop for an investigation to repair. I received confirmation that they had it on 17th August. To this day (8th October) they are refusing to tell me what is happening with my laptop. When I speak to someone on the phone, they are rude, hanging up on me on several occasions and giving me misleading information. I have since only corresponded via email, and they continue to tell me nothing about the repair, not telling me what the problem is, offering to return it, nothing. It seems clear to me that they have lost my laptop and are hoping I forget they have it. This is the worst customer service I have ever experience. Before I would recommend their products, now I tell everyone to stay clear due to their appalling customer service.

User's recommendation: Only purchase Acer products if you are prepared to service them yourself.

Windows 10. Errors

I never had an issue with Microsoft. Microsoft is amazing and so is ther customer support and technical support. I have issues with acer support. They do not stand by there own products.

User's recommendation: be sure to always subscribe to office 365 so you can use Microsoft Support instead. Acer is not reliable or honest.

Terrible customer service

My brand-new monitor stopped working 1 HOUR after unboxing it. It was sent in for repair and after a few days I was told it was awaiting a spare part. 34 days later after no news on the spare part I receive an email saying it was repaired and dispatched. I rang customer service to change the delivery address as I'd move house, but I was told to ignore the email as they were actually refunding me! I had bought the monitor using a 20% off discount code, so they were going to refund me the discounted price and expected me to then pay full price for a new monitor. I suggested they simply send me a new monitor (which is what I'd assumed they would do in the first place) but they refused to do this giving multiple excuses as to why this wasn't possible. I almost forgot to mention their useless customer service reps who can only tell you what you already know. They also must use a call centre in India as it was very difficult to understand some of their accents and the amount of background noise on the calls was horrendous. I could hear at least 3 other reps talking in the background on more than 1 occasion. I am going to take the refund and will never buy another product from Acer again after the experience I had

NFL is a Joke

This is a wake up call for a you die hard football fans. You should read this!!! Some Folks Have Come to Despise the NFL. For fans who follow the sport, most of this will be a simple reminder of things you already know. For the rest, it's a wake-up call: In 2012 the NFL had an issue with Tim Tebow kneeling before each game to pray, they also had an issue with Tebow wearing John 3:16 as part of his eye-black to avoid glare, and made him take it off. In 2013 the NFL fined Brandon Marshall for wearing green cleats to raise awareness for people with mental health disorders. In 2014 Robert Griffin III (RG3) entered a post-game press conference wearing a shirt that said "Know Jesus Know Peace" but was forced to turn it inside out by an NFL uniform inspector before speaking at the podium. In 2015 DeAngelo Williams was fined for wearing "Find the Cure "eye black for breast cancer awareness. In 2015 William Gay was fined for wearing purple cleats to raise awareness for domestic violence. (Not that the NFL has a domestic violence problem..). In 2016 the NFL prevented the Dallas Cowboys from wearing a decal on their helmet in honor of 5 Dallas Police officers killed in the line of duty. 2016 the NFL threatened to fine players who wanted to wear cleats to commemorate the 15th anniversary of 9/11. So tell me again how the NFL supports free speech and expression. It seems quite clear based on these facts that the NFL has taken a position against any action by NFL players demonstrating RESPECT for any issue: For God, social causes such as mental health, cancer, domestic violence, for cops killed arbitrarily, for being cops, or for the Memory of 9/11... BUT they will allow demonstrations of DISRESPECT for our National Flag, our National Anthem, for America , and for the American People, if it will help mollify a particular Group and its supporters. That is who and what the NFL now has shown itself to be. Pass this post along to all your friends and family, if you believe it worthy of sharing. Honor our military; too many of whom have come home with the American Flag draped over their coffin.

Acer: The Business vs the Consumer.

Business in 2020 is already known for widespread anti-consumer practices, with many companies surviving off the ignorance of their buyers; despite this, there are great number of businesses that strive to be even worse than the general majority. Of these, Acer is a champion in the cause of defrauding consumers and skirting responsibilities. From their famously self-absolving, legally ambiguous warranty system, to their broadly criticized product quality, and an absurd level of corner-cutting: If the 1.3 rating doesn't tip you off to how Acer performs as a company, you're probably their bread-and-butter as a consumer.

Laptop *literally* fell apart

Terrible design. The screen fell apart within 10 months. Worst piece of hardware I've ever owned. Guarantee, which was supposed to last for three years, was totally worthless and ignored.

Using ACER products since several years I was so naive to trust them one more for a tablet (Iconia One 10) I found at Wal Mart (Never again buy electronics from them! They have only 15 days offered to return a device for exchange, I rate their service elsewhere in ). Device was defective with large portion of touch screen not responding. I lost several days to reset the system and following several on line suggestion to fix the issue until I returned to Walmart only to get the answer I was 1 (ONE) day later and I have to apply to manufacturer. No way to tell them defective product can be returned within the warranty period, so I applied to Acer Canada support I was trusting for past reliable assistance. Got an online ticket number from a Dominican Republic Call Centre operator I personally dropped the unit to ACER repair shop in Mississauga (not far from me) and unit was inspected and accepted for repair according to the ticket I opened and I got a surprisingly 124 US$ repair request for: "...CID Cracked LCD – Damaged LCD screen Before we can continue with the repair of your product, it is necessary that you contact Acer to provide CID payment USD 109.99 plus applicable taxes. If we do not receive payment within four business days, your product will be returned unrepaired and held for customer pickup. OOW Repair charges: (USD) $109.99, Tax=$14.30, Total=$124.29....." Scaring!! A picture was showing the damages on the screen that were INEXISTANT when I dropped the unit (or the receptionist had noticed and refused to accept the unit. I had to go there and fight the evaluation. I have to give acer credit of their good faith of receptionist and they accepted my reason. Now I have a refurbish tablet but my trust on ACER and repair shop in general is shaken. ALWAYS bring a printed picture of your unit to repair, ask for an incoming inspection and WRITE on the receit the REAL condition of your unit asking to sign. If I were less attentive I would probably allowed the paid repair. If I were w/o copy of original aspect of my unit Iprobably got a refusal to onor the warranty. But the repairman forgot to seat the camera ans after again trying to find why no picture taken I returned to the repair shop and NOW seems working BUT quality of device is poor and I'm still afraid a new glitch will arise. Sorry my other Acer computer is working since 2008.

Help with shutdown and speed
